Fern Flat, Eungella Nat Park, Mackay Hinterland set in rain forest a short 600m drive from the information centre next to Broken River. The campground is suitable for tent camping or walk-in camping but is unsuitable for caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers. The site provides drop toilets and fire rings and the nearby day use area has Kiosk, picnic tables and gas barbecues. The site has a variety of walks through the forest and along the river where you may be able to spot a platypus. A pretty campground close to amenities and facilities yet you'll feel as if you're a million miles away. The site is pay to stay and not pet friendly.

Getting there: Take the Mackay-Eungella Rd 86km west from Mackay up to Broken River. At Broken River take a right at the signed  Eungella National Park Kiosk car park. Follow track out to site. Very steep climb up the escarpment to Eungella.
