Old Ford Reserve, Megalong Valley, is picturesque reserve on the grassy bank of  Megalong Creek. There are plenty of waterholes along the creek, however signs advise against swimming. We can only assume this has something to do with the surrounding farms run off? For the enthusiastic hikers, there is an entrance to the historical six foot track just south of the site along Megalong Rd.

Also there is also some good hiking and 4x4 driving is available further down the road in the Blue Mountains National Park.

A pretty spot to set up base camp, plus it's free!

For more information click on Key Features above.

Cost: FREE

Getting there: From Blackheath take shipley Rd off Station St out to Megalong Valley Rd. Follow Megalong Valley Rd. Camp ground will be well signed on your left about 20km out of Blackheath.
