Bendeela, Kangaroo Valley, is a large, free open grassed camp area on the banks of the Kangaroo River. This is a great camp ground for that weekend away being only a 2 hour drive south of Sydney. The river provides plenty of opportunities for fishing, kayaking, canoeing or just lounging. The bird and wild life at Bendeela is out of control, with so many Kangaroo, wombat and Kookaburra getting about you won't know where to look. The setting itself is picture perfect making this a very popular camp ground at peak periods.
The ground has basic facilities including toilets and water, however open fires are not permitted so cooking will have to be done on gas stove. The campground is about and 8km drive from the township of Kangaroo Valley which is handy for supplies or that sneaky pub meal. Bendeela, Kangaroo valley truly is an Australian post card.
