Peach Trees, Jimna State Forest is a great place for the wildlife watcher or the horse trail rider, and provides a very comfortable bush camping experience

Peach Trees, Jimna State Forest is a great place for the wildlife watcher. Near tame Eastern Grey Kangaroo lounge on the well grassed areas between shaded campsites. At night, Possums play in the large protective gums, and some lucky campers may even catch a glimpse of platypus in  the bordering creek.

Passing through Jimna State Forest is a registered horse trail, and the ajacent paddock next to Peach Trees provides an area for Riders to keep horses overnight. Mobile phone coverage is Intermittent and cold showers and toilet facilities are present, providing a more comfortable bush camping experience, how ever, bookings are required as this site can be very busy during peak periods.

Cost:

Fees for camping permits in national parks and other protected areas, forest reserves, State forests and recreation areas, from 1 July 2017:

  • $6.35 per person per night, or $25.40 per family per night;
  • $3.50 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved educational excursions.
  • $25.40 per night per family. 1 or 2 adults, accompanied by 3 to 6 children under 18 year applies to a maximum of 8 people in total. Children under 5 years free of charge.
